The Time is Now: Join the call for Humane Immigration Reform

On Thursday, December 10th, the International Human Rights Day will be observed worldwide. The NYC chapter of the New Sanctuary Coalition is using this day to kick off their local participation in the "National Days of Interfaith Action for Immigration Reform."

Recognizing the need for an urgent and forceful push for reform, the New Sanctuary Coalition-NYC is partnering with a diverse collection of community groups to unite in this call with one loud voice and you are invited to join them.

Two events are taking place on Thursday outside the Varick Street Detention Center. The day will be kicked off at noon with a press conference for the various media outlets in New York City.

Later, at 7:30, join community and faith leaders make the urgent call for reform by bringing a picture of a friend or loved one that is affected by the current immigration policy along with a candle to the vigil being held outside the Varick Street Detention Center.

Come join in on this community wake-up call to the need for just and humane immigration reform!
